M.O.M of the AGM held at Durgapur Club on 06.01.2013 1. After welcoming all the members present, the Secretary N K Laha proposed that, in absence of President Sri Santanu Chakravarty our new member Sri Somdeb Das for presiding over day’s proceedings which was accepted by the house. 2. It was decided that, we will collect Rs 500.00 as yearly subscription for the year 2013 as before. Fifteen members out of twenty present have already paid their subscription. Considering the paucity of fund, the President requested all members to clear their annual fees. To give a boost for collection of fund, five nos receipt books are distributed to the following members which will be handed over to five new members after their completion. We will try to complete the collection of yearly subscription by January 2013. a) Sri PP Basu ( Contains Page Nos. 101-201 ), b) Sri Arun Kundu /Sri Ramdip Ganguly ( Pages 201-300), c) Sri D Bhadra ( Pages 301-400 ), d) Sri S Bose ( Pages 401-500 ) 5. A tentative date for picnic at Nachan Dam on 03.02.2013 was decided with a family contribu- tion of Rs 600.00. 6. Next executive committee meeting will likely be held on 16.01.2013. This will be confirmed at a later date. 7. The formal handing/taking over charges along with accounts will take place in next meeting. 8. The meeting ended with a vow to continue the legacy of our alma matter in general and Shibpur Engineers’ Association, Durgapur ( SEAD ) in particular and with a vote of thanks. We are sleeping to much during past one year. Please wake up & enjoy guru.
Ultimately winter has sprawled its wings with mild blow of chilled breeze over steely atmosphere.
As “Biswakabi” sweetly expressed ,“ Seeter hawaya laglo nachan laglo nachan Amlokir oi dale dale.”
So the nature itself is beckoning SEAD members for a grand family picnic at “Manali Aranyak” on
10th January 2010.
Contribution considered Rs300/- ( Rupees three hundred only ) per family even
for largest one. Single participation of Rs200/-( Rupees two hundred only )will be discouraged even
from forced bachelor also.
Non-participation will be considered as detachment from unsocial flocks of steel city.
If you consider yourself not in that category then please wake up & confirm by last day of this year
to avoid dearth of mouth watering preparations and to prevent wastage of food in this hungry
world of us.
All remains will be gossiped at length on the ground of “Manali Aranyak” on 10th January 2010.

1. Present secretary Sri H B Goswami requested Sri Abdul Karim, senior most member present,
to conduct the meeting. Same was unanimously seconded by all present.
2. The meeting was called to order by Sri Abdul Karim at 8pm. He congratulated the committee
for the excellent job done in last 6 years and this was unanimously supported by all the members
with thanks to them. Though Sri Karim expressed that this committee may continue for another
term but secretary Sri H B Goswami intimated the house there must be a change and the baton
should be handed over to our young alumnus. He also thanked all the alumni members and the
committee members for their active support during the period. It was suggested by the chair
that a steering committee be formed and after long deliberations with all the members,
a steering committee was formed with President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer
and area co-ordinators

4. Following were resolved:
i) Bank accounts with UBI will be operated by any two of the following Office bearers.

ii) Out of the S/B account No. 0206010222160 at UBI, Durgapur-3 branch, an amount of
Rs.1, 00,000/- will be deposited as FD in the same branch for a period of one year.
iii) Annual contribution towards SEAD will be Rs.100/- for members above the age of
65 years & Rs.500/- for other members.
iv) Annual picnic will be held on 3rd January, 2010 May be changed to 10th Jan
and venue will be Garh Panchakot.
Contribution for picnic will be as under:
Family - Rs.300/-
Single - Rs.200/-
Venue and date may change subject to availability of site. Members will be intimated
accordingly
5. It was suggested by Sri Partha Pratim Basu that the committee should explore the
possibility of a permanent address for SEAD. Feasibility will be studied by the secretary.
6. It was suggested by Sri Shubhrangshu Choudhury that accounts required to be audited for
an ongoing society. The members in the meeting wanted the next committee to look into the
matter & opined that an auditor may be appointed.
7. Sri Nirmal Kumar Laha raised the issue of extending technical education & training in the
locality by SEAD. Sri Shantanu Chakravarty suggested that we may contact our Alma Mater
in this connection as new schools & centres of studies were built at BESU.
The meeting ended with congratulations to new committee and thanks to old committee.
